Control cabinet manufacturing for industrial companies

Technical design and consulting for well-founded decisions

Gross Schaltschrankbau helps industrial companies classify technical requirements, compare possible solutions and reliably design electrical components and relevant parameters. Consulting creates clarity before design, schematic design or manufacturing begins – or when individual decisions need to be validated during an ongoing project.

What does technical consulting achieve in control cabinet manufacturing?

Technical consulting structures requirements and open questions, checks boundary conditions and develops a transparent basis for decisions. Depending on the assignment, it covers dimensioning, comparison of technical variants, selection of suitable components and documentation of recommendations, risks and prerequisites. It can be ordered as a stand-alone service or as a preliminary stage to specific project engineering.

Starting point

Idea, requirement, choice of variants or technical problem

Focus

Basis for decisions, dimensioning and component selection

Result

Reasoned recommendation based on the given requirements

Next steps

Optionally design, schematics, manufacturing and testing

Reasons for consulting

When technical consulting makes sense

Six typical starting situations. All of them involve making a technical decision for which the basis is still missing.

Early project phase

Clarify feasibility and the direction of the solution before a complete specification is available.

Variants and standardisation

Evaluate several possible solutions or define reusable layout concepts.

Retrofit and obsolescence

Replacement components and target architecture for discontinued or no longer available technology.

Need for capacity or expertise

Support internal teams with clearly defined questions or temporary bottlenecks.

Change during an ongoing project

Assess the impact of new loads, interfaces or customer requirements.

Technical plausibility check

Check existing concepts and assumptions for consistency.

Collaboration

A compact route to a reliable decision

The starting point is rarely a ready-made question, but rather a conflict of objectives: which solution fits the task, how must the components be dimensioned, which parts are technically and economically suitable – and which risks can already be identified?

These four questions cannot be answered separately. Dimensioning without clarified operating conditions is an estimate; component selection without a target market can fail in export. That is why consulting begins by narrowing down the question, not with the answer.

We work with what is available. Missing information is documented and marked as an assumption – so it remains clear what the recommendation is based on and what changes if an assumption no longer holds.

The result is as specific as the decision requires, and no more. Consulting does not have to lead to a complete design; it can also end with an overview of variants.

01

Narrow down the question

Define the goal, the decisions required and the project context.

02

Check the data

Record documents, performance data, standards and gaps.

03

Develop options

Identify suitable technical solutions and components.

04

Evaluate

Compare criteria, risks, dependencies and consequences.

05

Recommend

Hand over the result, assumptions and next steps in a transparent way.

Scope of services

What we work on – and what you contribute

The first three columns describe the consulting service. The fourth lists the information that should come from your side.

Structure requirements

Sharpen the question before answering it.

Technical design

Determine parameters and evaluate concepts.

Prepare the selection

Make options comparable and recommend.

What you contribute

Information without which a targeted start is not possible.

Possible results

As specific as the decision requires

The handover is defined in advance. Consulting does not automatically have to lead to a complete design or electrical documentation.

Technical recommendation

Reasoned solution proposal with prerequisites, alternatives and open issues.

Basis for further work

Documented status for internal decisions, tenders, design or project engineering.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about consulting and technical design

Can consulting begin before a specification is finalised?

Yes. Especially at an early stage, consulting can help to structure goals, requirements, interfaces and missing data. Binding design decisions subsequently require a sufficiently reliable data basis.
Relevant parameters are determined and components designed to the agreed extent. The depth of calculation and verification, and the responsibility for it, are defined before the project starts.
Selection is based on technical suitability, customer standards, availability and life cycle. Specified manufacturers or approved vendor lists are taken into account.
Not automatically. Consulting provides recommendations and a basis for decisions. The electrical documentation is created as part of schematic design and is agreed separately.
Yes. Design, schematic design, manufacturing and testing can be ordered afterwards, but are not a prerequisite for consulting.
