Control cabinet manufacturing for industrial companies

Electrical schematics and manufacturing documents for industrial controls

Gross Schaltschrankbau creates and edits project-specific electrical documentation with EPLAN. This can include circuit diagrams, bills of materials, terminal diagrams, manufacturing documents and other technical documents. Scope, data basis, responsibilities and approvals are clearly defined before the project starts – regardless of whether manufacturing subsequently takes place at Gross Schaltschrankbau or only documentation services are commissioned.

What does custom schematic design include?

Custom schematic design translates project-specific functions, components, connections and markings into structured electrical documentation. Depending on the order, circuit diagrams, bills of materials, terminal diagrams and manufacturing documents are created or revised. Before work begins, the data basis, applicable standards, drawing review, approval responsibility, output formats and change process are agreed.

Results

Schematic, bill of materials, terminal diagram, manufacturing documents, layout drawing, production plan

Data basis

Specification, functional description or existing documentation

Starting points

New creation, revision or standardisation

Create new schematics

Based on the functional description, specification, component requirements and agreed technical decisions.

Edit existing documentation

Transfer changes, extensions or retrofit measures into a controlled and traceable revision status.

Apply templates and standards

Adopt customer-specific marking, macros, forms and plant standards, provided they are supplied complete and approved.

Project workflow

From data check to approved electrical documentation

The process is adapted to project size, data quality and the agreed scope of services.

Electrical documentation is not a by-product but the working basis for manufacturing, commissioning and maintenance. Anything that is ambiguous in the drawing gets interpreted in the workshop – and that creates deviations that nobody can trace later on.

That is why we start by reviewing the data: functional description, component requirements, marking system and target market must be known before drawing begins. Open points go back as questions, not into the drawing as silent assumptions.

We adopt templates, macros and plant standards provided they are complete and approved. Where they are missing, we work to an agreed system and document it.

The result is an approved revision status with defined output formats – usable for manufacturing, testing and later changes.

01

Check the data

Record documents, standards and open points.

02

Define the scope

Define documents, formats, responsibilities and deadlines.

03

Adopt the concept

Document approved functions and components.

04

Create drawings

Prepare schematics, lists and manufacturing documents.

05

Review & correct

Carry out drawing review and agreed correction loops.

06

Approve & hand over

Secure the revision status and provide the files.

Scope of services

These documents can be created for your project

The exact set depends on the application, available data, target market and downstream manufacturing process. Not every document is required for every project.

Circuit diagrams and overview drawings

Reports and lists

Manufacturing and handover documents

Clear scope

Schematic design documents approved technical decisions

It is based on the decisions made during consulting and design engineering. We translate them into complete electrical documentation on which manufacturing, testing and later changes can reliably build.

Design & Engineering

Overall technical design, project coordination and project-specific component selection.

Consulting & Technical Design

Decision bases, dimensioning and recommendations for component selection.

Electrical Schematics

Map approved functions and components in EPLAN, bills of materials, terminal diagrams and manufacturing documents.

Manufacturing

Physical implementation of the approved manufacturing documents, covered on a separate service page.

Required information

This information creates a reliable planning basis

Missing data can be identified in the initial meeting. For binding work, however, open technical decisions and responsibilities must be clarified.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about schematic design with EPLAN

Which documents are required for schematic design?

As a minimum, we need a functional description, known interfaces and loads, the target market, component requirements and agreed standards. Existing drawings, EPLAN data, macros and plant specifications speed up the assessment.
Yes. Changes, extensions or retrofit measures are transferred into a controlled and traceable revision status.
The design is a separate service. It can additionally be commissioned as Consulting & Technical Design or as Design & Engineering.
Yes. Manufacturing builds on the approved manufacturing documents and is agreed as a separate service.
